CPU: 233 Mhz (500+ recomended)
RAM: 64 mb (256+ recomended)
HDD: 300 mb hard drive space space for installer files
+ 700 mb for program install

Video: a 3d accelorator card with 4MB video ram (supporting DX8 or greater)
OS: Any version of windows (An open souce Linux Ragnarok Client is being discussed)

A. Direct X
---

To check if your DirectX is working, go to 'start->run' and type in: "dxdiag.exe"
and click 'run', This should bring up a window describing DirectX on your system.
Click on the 'Display' tab, and click the 'Test Direct3D' button. If it works,
your DX setup should be ready for Ragnarok.

B. Ragnarok & Sakray installers
---

There are many versions of Ragnarok and Sakray installers available online. DO NOT
SEARCH FOR THEM. To get a working installation that will land you on the keiRO server,
you need to use the installers that can be downloaded from http://www.keiro.tk/ and
nowhere else.

Note: Downloading the first two files can take a while, We suggest a download manager
such as Star Downloader

C. MAKING AN ACCOUNT
---

After installing, you will need to an account before you can play. Go here for more

NOTE: I suggest requesting the account be made BEFORE you download and set up Ragnarok,
if only to make the wait seem shorter...

D. INSTALLING
---

The RAG and SAK installers are in Korean. You will probably see a lot of garbled text.
However, they are layed out exactly like every other installer you've ever used, including
'NEXT' 'I AGREE' and 'BROWSE' and 'FINISH' buttons. Just click the button that feels right,
its pretty intuitive

NOTE: We will have more detailed instructions on which buttons need to be clicked later on,
as soon as i find my installer - Kitty

You will also need an archiver that can open tar.gz (for file 4), I suggest PowerArchiver.

A. Downloading
---

1) You need to download the following four (4) files:
#1 - RAG_SETUP1209.EXE (hereto after refered to as RAG)
#2 - SAK_SETUP1209.EXE (we'll call this SAK)
#3 - kei_setup_.EXE (we'll call this KEI)
#4 - newkeiroexe.tar.gz (we'll call this newkeiroexe.tar.gz, to be specific)

*The following steps assume you have completed step 1

A. Installing RAG_SETUP*
---

This is a big file and will take a while to install. It may look like its stuck on a
file called 'data.grf', but its not. Its just a REALLY big file(several hundred megabytes),
wait for it to install. Once it is installed, go directly to step 3.

NOTE: DO NOT RUN 'RAGNAROK.EXE' __EVER__ (but dont delete it either)

B. Installing SAK_SETUP*
---

Choose the same directory as your RAG install
NOTE: this may take some time as well, but not as long as RAG. just let it go.

C. Offical Patching
---

1) Run 'Sakray.exe'

You will find this in the folder you just installed RAG and SAK to
(c:\program files\gravity\ro\) It will run an AUTOPATCHER utility. This is where you
will need about 800MB free space on your hard drive (temporarily). A little progress bar
should go by several times for several different files. If it looks stuck, give it about
30 minutes. If its still stuck, cancel and run it again. When it is complete, it will
have two buttons: 'START GAME' and 'EXIT'.

**** DO NOT PRESS START GAME *** DO NOT PRESS START GAME ***
JUST CLICK EXIT.

If you press start game, it will change some files, and you'll have to uninstall
and start this whole process over again!!

2) Run 'Sakray.exe' again, This may not do much. CLICK 'EXIT' when its complete
(again, not start game...)

NOTE: If you get an error message, just click OK.

3) Run 'Sakray.exe' for the last time.

This should probably not do much at all, but this makes absolutely friggin'
sure that you're all patched up. CLICK 'EXIT' whenits completed
(we'll reiterate NOT start game...)

C. KeiRO Patching
---

1) Open 'kei_setup.tar.gz'. Extract and run the only available file. Choose the same
directory as your RAG and SAK install. let it do its thing, its pretty quick.

2) Open 'newkeiexe.tar.gz' You will see one file, 'keiro.exe', put this file in your
RAG/SAK/KEI install directory, thereby replacing 'keiro.exe'
(ie: c:\program files\gravity\ro\keiro.exe)

C. Playing KeiRO
---

9) To play on keiRO, run 'keiRO.exe'
Note: You may want to make a shortcut to it on your desktop for easy access.
Another Note: Dont forget you need a registered account (see NOTES C above)

1) If you choose a non-default directory (one other than c:\program files\gravity\ro\ )
the SAKRAY installer will probably mess up. It likes to put itself in
(your insall directory)\gravity\ro\ instead of where it should be
(EX: you install to c:\games\ro\ it goes to c:\games\ro\gravity\ro\)
the symptom will be that when you run keiro.exe, it complains of missing sprite files.
if so, check for a 'gravity\ro\' subfolder in your install directory. if it exists, simply
copy the files from there into your install directory (choose 'yes' to replace files)
also move the files from (your install)\gravity\ro\BGM\ to (your install)\BGM\
now run keiro.exe, if it works, you're golden. if not, i dont know *shrug*

2) People in game are usually helpful, but DONT STEAL THEIR KILLS or STUFF. If you ask
where things are they will either tell you, or more likely, bring you there themselves.
But dont beg. The beginner's FAQ can be found here:

NOTE: take time to read it before creating a character. you need to figure which class
you want to be before assinging those first stats, or you will have a lame char!

3) This all seems like a lot of work. And it is. But its WORTH IT.

4) Try not to bug the OPs on the IRC channel. To find out if the server is down,
simply try to log on, the number by the server name in parenthesis is the number of
people on the server. If its less than 10, the server is DOWN. No one on IRC _EVER_
knows when it will be back up.

Als jullie een echt mooi spel willen spelen en niet afknappen zodra je text-based hoort, probeer dan www.bushtarion.com eens. Ik speel het nu al 2 jaar enheb de halve school aangestoken. Als je liever een gangster wil spelen kun je ook naar www.mobstar.cc en www.barafranca.com zelf vind ik deze sites niet echt goed maar oordeel zelf!

[Dark Grimoire is een textased RPG. Je moet idd niet afknappen op het woord '''textbased'' en je moet wel wat geduld hebben, maar het is wel een tof spel.

Die werken ook niet. Alleen de sak_setup/rag_setup 0127 versie.

Dit is ook zo'n spel dat je niet voor de graphics speelt (het is textbased ), maar dat maakt het niet minder leuk!

ikkuh heb 't gedownload, ik heb een account aangemaakt...

hij connect met de server voor identificatie, hij connect met een gekozen server, ik kan me character kiezen enzo...

maar zodra ik klaar ben daarmee, hij laad (dat kaartscherm) en vervolgens zie ik me poppetje staan... en krijg ik de melding 'the connection is lost' ik heb 't meerdere malen geprobeerd op verschillende servers maar bij allemaal krijg ik het...

iemand enig idee hoe dit kan? als 't aan een firewall ligt welke poorten moet ik opengooien, als 't ergens anders aan ligt hoe fix ik 't dan?
