Haha, en in het boekje verontschuldigen die lui zich ervoor dat de productie te helder is

Cd van Vargsang heet "Call of the nightwolves", en is black metal die verbazend veel op Graven lijkt.

Nog meer truie black:

Koldbrann, Ondskapt, Craft.

Koldbrann is black metal uit Noorwegen, gerelateerd aan Disiplin, het klinkt alleen minder modern. Heeft wel wat weg van Gorgoroth en Satyricon.

Ondskapt komt uit Zweden, en de muziek is doordrenkt van slechtheid. Ondskapt betekent ook boosaardig. Het album 'Draco sit mihi dux' (latijns voor, de duivel is mijn gids) is black metal die erg veel doet denken aan Mayhem ten tijde van De mysteriis dom Sathanas. Een van de beste albums van het afgelopen jaar.

Craft is al redelijk bekend, hebben reeds twee albums uitgebracht, Total Soul Rape en Terror Propaganda. Zeer goede darkthrone kloon.

Wat dacht men van Forest?

Russische Black Metal uit de "Blazebirth Hall" kringen. Deze muziek neigt naar een primitieve Darkthrone met volk invloeden. Hypnotisch en zeer krachtig, maar het meest wonderbaarlijke is de laatste en langste track op het self-titled album. 20 minuten aan koude, atmospherische en zeer hoogstaande ambient. Het mooie aan dit muziekstuk is dat het volgensmij niet geproduceerd is dmv computers en ontzettend veel dure technische prut, maar anoloog en gevoelsrijk.

FOREST was born in 1994 as a project of Kaldrad (BRANIKALD) and Dagorath, the leader of another horde from Blaze Birth Hall called RUNDAGOR (long time dead now). The concept of the FOREST was born after Kaldrad's and Dagorath's journey into the old woods where the long forgotten sacrificial places \ forest temples and burial mounds of ancient Slaws were situated.

"...and the Wanderer asked the Raven: "As you fly alone above the Spears of the Woods, above the Depths of the Distances, so lonely am I in my Weltanschauung, thus tell me, you must know - Where is the essence of danger within my deepest fantasies inspired this Hall? What in my thoughts demands such a greater sacrifice? And if the walls of vacuum are truly unbreakable, as they say?".


High across the landscapes the Raven's screech was heard: "You want to learn where the Night drowns deep? So go and meet this darker Land alone. Learn the Thorn of the Cold. Then come back and tell me, why the fangs of the Older Youth are still sharp and firm? And why the lips of the toothless oldness do tremble? Only the bravery of the Answers has the Wings to fly high, one with the Storms - through the Time, through the Truth..."

The unique atmosphere of these haunted woods, the ghosts of the past channeled the inspiration into the hearts and minds of FOREST creators and right after the return from this journey, in the Autumn of 1994 the debut reh. demo of FOREST was composed and recorded in intuitive \ spontaneous way. It has very strange sound and 2 of 4 songs were not Black Metal, but some weird folkish ambiental compositions on guitars. It was recorded only for close comrades / allies and never widely spread, although one track from this rehearsal, called "Winter Howl" is included to their later demo '96 "Forest" in original version, another song from '94, called "Like a Shade Upon This Land" is also included to FOREST "Forest", but in re-recoded form (1996). Up from those days, FOREST could be characterized as the Norse-styled NSBM, combining the rawest aggression, great DarkThrone-ish melodism, Isengard-like clean vocals and splendid unique atmosphere. After the rehearsal tape '94 and "Forest" album '96, another album "Like a Blaze above the Ashes" '97 was recorded in the same line-up, and on the next work "Foredooming the Hope to Eternity" '98 Ulv Gegner of RAVEN DARK joined FOREST project. Few months later Dagorath of RUNDAGOR (RIP) left everything he was involved in past: all the radical \ ideological activities, BM scene and so on. Later, after the terror-campaign waged on Dagorath by two remained FOREST members and their allies, he was forced to escape from the town where he lived, and now his whereabouts are unknown, as well as no one knows if he is still alive or not at all. After all these happenings, in 1999, old session drummer Wizard was fired and FOREST was reinforced with the new skinsman Ransverdi - and they've recorded 4th work entitled "As a Song in the Harvest of Grief", which is another full-length album. In 2000 FOREST transforms into VARGLODR. During year 2000 VARGLODR recorded 2 full-length works - "When Only Dust, Ashes and the Fornicated Earth are Left Behind..." and "To the Flame of the New Day". VARGLODR drowns in yet the rawer and even more aggressive mood when compared to the FOREST, since now completely devoid of the clean vocals and with severed melodism. Since early 2001 time the drummer Ransverdi is kicked off and the future of VARGLODR is rather unknown.

Yet another newer BlazeBirth Hall project, involving the ex-members from FOREST is called NITBERG was also formed back in 1999 and the first two works called "The Wolf of the Sleipnir of the Hooves Holocaust" and "Donnerwetter, Donnerwyrd" were recorded the same year. The music is characterized with an incredible ISENGARD-like spirit, powerful clean singing, mid to high tempo-attacks and is highly acclaimed within the radical BM circles of Russia. While NITBERG lyrics are bursting with White Pride and a bitter Scaldic irony towards the masses of various rabble around. Nowadays (Winter 2002/2003), both Kaldrad and Ulv Gegner, using the help of TEMNOZOR' and WOODS OF FALLEN members are working within NITBERG project towards the completion of the new album, which is expected to be one half NSBM, one half WP / RAC.

46. Have a side project. Ensure that all other members of your band also have side projects.
47. Fill out the other slots in your other member's side projects as "session" musicians.
48. Record everything in the same studio with the same producer/instruments/equipment/etc.
49. Make sure your album cover never consists of more than three colors (color options allowed: grey, black, white).
50. Publicly state that your band is "non-religious", then use the word "Satan" over 400 times on your one-song thirty-minute album.
51. Never stuff your shoes to make them appear puffy and avoid the wearing of backwards baseball caps if at all possible. Red ones in particular.
52. Insist that music should never progress and that it should still sound the same way it did 9 friggin years ago.
53. Never say "friggin".
54. Never finish anything you start.
55. The word "Hail" is the only appropriate greeting whenever greeting someone "true".
56. If feeling especially true on a given occasion, try "Infernal Hails".
57. All logos must include illegible writing and at least one inverted cross and/or pentagram. This is non-negotiable.
58. When referring to sex with a Metal Chick use only the terminology "sticking my clouded frost-spire into her gates of attrition".
59. Design complex logo for your grim black metal band on binder paper in the middle of math class.
60. Accept every interview you're offered... then pretend that you really don't enjoy being interviewed.

Mja dat 'maggot' roept inderdaad bepaalde vooroordelen op

Net een concert gehad van Dark Black (ofzo), Salacious Gods, Secrets Of The Moon en Merrimack (ofzo).

Dark Black was ronduit de slechtste band die ik ooit heb live gezien. Dat het geluid stond naar ruis was in hun voordeel omdat het een sluier over het gebrek aan techniek gooide.

Salacious Gods als altijd oké maar saai.

Secrets Of The Moon was een geweldige band om te zien. Technisch steekt het behoorlijk goed in elkaar, af en toe alternatieve opvattingen van Black Metal maar toch nog puristisch en "rauw".

Merrimack was ook wel leuk, maar ik voelde me moe en verkouden dus ben ik maar naar huis gegaan.

Nargaroth, die vanavond zou komen, heeft afgelast omdat Kuntwulf zijn sessie-muzikanten niet kon vinden. Hij komt nog.

Nee, Kanwulf betrapte zijn schatje met 3 kerels in een nogal ongemakkelijke pose in zijn bed, ze verwachtten niet betrapt te worden omdat Kanwulf een concert moest geven. Maar uiteraard zegde hij af, ging hij naar huis met het voornemen zich eens lekker af te trekken en zag het gebeuren. En toen was het natuurlijk einde verhaal.
