FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Thursday, October 24, 2002 Maggots March on New York City; Slipknot DVD to be Premiered at Manhattan Center On November 1st; DISASTERPIECES In Stores November 26th On November 1st, Slipknot will be taking over Manhattan Center's Grand Ballroom at a party presented by Roadrunner Records and Revolver Magazine to debut the band's first DVD, Disasterpieces. Officially CMJ's Loud Rock Night, unofficially dubbed "Maggot March On NYC" by the band, the party is being thrown for the band's devoted network of fans (affectionately known as "Maggots", as they feed off of the shambling entity that is the 'Knot). In a show of "thanks" and as a gesture of mutual respect, entry to this once-in-a-lifetime event is free to all Maggots, and once they enter the venue a scene will ensue unlike any other. The centerpiece of the event will be an advance screening of the Disasterpieces DVD, which features fifteen songs live from the band's London Arena performance earlier this year. Filmed by over thirty cameras, the footage will be presented on a theater-sized screen at the upcoming event. To supplement the insanity onscreen, a mind-blowing array of performers will round out the evening. While we don't want to give away much, we can say that the following will be seen in abundance- pillars of flame, tattoos, wild animals, and of course, wild Maggots. Not only are the band's fans from across the country invited, but also industry and press are cordially invited to enter the fold. We promise an industry party that you will not soon forget. For more information, please contact the Roadrunner Records Media Relations department or log onto www.roadrunnerrecords.com Regarding the DVD itself, which streets on November 26, it presents bone-crunching mayhem from the first note to the blistering finish: and all right there in your living room. A double-disc tour de force with over two hours of footage, the centerpiece is the aforementioned performance at London Arena on February 16, 2002. In addition to the concert, the DVD contains five music videos (including the banned video for "Spit It Out" & the never-before-seen animated version of "Wait & Bleed"), plus the rare bonus audio track "Purity." Viewers can follow the band as they travel on the road in extensive backstage and behind-the-scenes footage, and also witness something nearly as compelling as the show itself: exclusive behind-the-scenes footage of the members pre-show, as they transform themselves into the nine-headed hydra that is Slipknot. Noot: Na dit hoogdravende bericht ben ik wel benieuwd of ze aan alle verwachtingen kunnen voldoen! |
