Shadows, drifting over bare stone
The path I wander is so cold
As I face the dark in all it’s beauty
It’s treasures, and it’s eternal depth
And I wished that I forever slept
The earth it’s secrets I have kept
Their weight lies heavy on my shoulders
And I bow down as if I’m older than this world
Dusk brings the end of another day
The sun sinking down at the fading horizon
Into the oceans and deep beneath
And a frozen moon rises from the deep well
It’s the prison where I must dwell
Darker than the bottom of the seas
and all I possess are a thousand keys
But none of them unlocks the gate
Every creature looks upon me within faith
For I am their god, the one and only
Who roams the skies so cold and lonely
And none of them knows how I am suffering
