Synopsis:
The ‘White Noise’ of the title refers to the phenomenon known as EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena). Listen carefully, believers will tell you, and in amidst the white noise of a seemingly detuned radio signal you might hear voices and in amidst the white noise of a detuned TV signal, you might actually see faces. iej eng lol, goed nachtmerriemateriaal iig, maar ik trailers zijn zelden een goede indicatie van de kwaliteit van de film.

ach als er een paar degelijke scares in zitten dan is het goed. Ik verwacht niet echt een horror meesterwerk oid.

EVP is verre van standaard, alleen de opgeblazen manier waarmee ze dit concept simpelweg gebruiken om demonen te introduceren wel. Daarbij heb ik me jaren geleden verdiept in het fenomeen en ik heb nog nooit zulke duidelijke stemmen gehoord. Het frustrerende van de trailer is dat ze halverwege het concept al overboord gooien. "If they can come through, what more?". EVP is een opstapje naar iets banaals. Ik heb weinig vertrouwen in dit product. Doodzonde, weer een gemiste kans, want het kan werkelijk iets "disturbing" worden. Ik betwijfel het.

THE STONE TAPE is de enige andere EVP-achtige film die ik ken. Echter nog steeds niet gezien. Eens bestellen.

Lijkt erop dat ze het fenomeen gebruiken om er een standaard Hollywood thriller van te maken. Beetje jammer als dat zo is.
