My England live,
I bled beneath
And rose again,
From underneath.

The wounds have healed,
The pain’s eased.
And fit leaves grew,
Whilst ill diseased.

With Zephyrus,
Wind from the West.
All is warm,
And all is blessed.

And now I am
Who I erstwhile was
No longer a vague shadow
A blast from the past

The thing I hated;
To be once more
The lady,
From the other shore;

Is not who I have come to be



Dit is versie 2 van My England live en is een soort epiloog van de eerste. Tussen de eerste en de tweede komen nog een (zolang mijn inspiratie het toelaat) aantal gedichten rond hetzelfde thema. Dit is dan de laatste, als een soort afronding.

Hmm, ik dacht al dat deze me bekend voorkwam. Nu zijn er wel wat veranderingen aangebracht, bijvoorbeeld de slotzin, toch?

Ja inderdaad. En de zinnen zijn ook verandert hoor, niet allemaal trouwens, maar de meeste wel.

Ik vind hem mooi. De eerste ook al.
Het heeft iets heel historisch. Misschien zelfs meer iets fantasyachtigs (hoewel dat natuurlijk ook aan je avatar kan liggen).
