Anguish

Lost to reality
Fear is what is left to me
Quiet, patient
Never-ending fear
Not the quick
Soul encompasing terror
Which leaves one
Exhausted and drained
Immune to it's final touch
This is a slow fear
It's icy fingers creeping ever so slowly
Across my lungs and mind
Prickling numbness left in it's wake
The terror of a soul
Dancing with death
Of Hope
Lost, broken in it's shadow
Forgotten
This is the fear gripping me
Killing me
Bending me to it's will
