ik heb een stukje via de telefoon gevolgd, wat ik kon horen klonk best leuk. en volgens een vriendin van mij die er wel was en die er geen zin in had was het toch erg leuk.
tot zo ver mijn bijdrage.

Dat is inderdaad wel de beste manier om een concert te beoordelen, via de verpletterende akoestiek van een telefoon...

Het was echt tof, alleen begon het opeens om 19.30
Ik dacht dus dat deuren pas om 20u open gingen dus ik zo geregeld met m'n werk dat ik eerder weg mocht, kwam ik daar aan om kwart voor 8 ofzo was fokkin iedereen al binnen zowat
Heb ook maar 3 of 4 nummers van Stars mee gekregen helaas

Bloc Party was cool, ik vond het eigenlijk nog best rustig voor een uitverkochte zaal. We konden gewoon nog naar voren komen en normaal staan, niet als een sardientje ofzo.

En hoe gaaf waren space invades en snake op dat lichtjes gordijn

stars was echt heel mooi,bloc party maakte mn verwachtingen waar.
gaaf trouwens ook dat de leden van bloc party gewoon op de afterparty rondliepen enzo

EXCLUSIVE: New Bloc Party LP 'within 6 months'

The London four-piece remain guarded on the details...

In an online exclusive interview with Bloc Party this afternoon, bassist Gordon Moakes revealed their second album will be released within the next six months.

Talking to DiS before their headlining performance at the Royal Albert Hall, London in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, DiS gleaned a few details on album number two.

"In six months... we'll have the record out," stated Moakes cautiously, adding, "I think our pressure is to innovate more. I don't think anyone expects us to be more commercial. Our aim is to make the best music we possibly can."

The band revealed that no final decision had been reached on a producer though they were 'very close' to deciding.

Moakes also added that his work on the much-vaunted Yourcodenameis:milo collaborative Desert Sessions-esque album is already complete, "I don't know if Graham Coxon has done it or is going to do it," he said "Ross from The Futureheads did one and Lucas from Maximo Park was just about to last I heard. It'll be out when they've got enough for a mini-album or EP."

Bloc Party play the V Festival this August and Coachella Festival in the United States next month. You can read the full interview with the band on Drowned in Sound later this week.

Valt (op zich) te vergelijken met Interpol. Antics is goed, doordat het eigenlijk in het verlengde van Turn on the bright lights ligt. Toch zijn de mijlpalen spannender dan hun verlengingen.

En het leuke en nieuwe zal er na een tijd wel af zijn. Behalve als ze gewoon echt pakkende en puntige songs blijven schrijven. Maar daar ga ik niet van uit. Alleen al het feit dat antigone zegt dat de nieuwe songs 'best oke' klinken. Toen ik die EP van ze hoorde was ik overwelmd, en gaf ik ze niet het predicaat 'best oke'. Sowieso is over 5 jaar toch iedereen die kut hype bandjes (hopelijk) vergeten.

Maar ik wacht geduldig af.

nou best ok ligt meer aan het feit dat het veelal live opnames zijn die ik gedownload heb, maar nummers als 'burning the witch' , 'it started in an afternoon' en vooral 'skeleton' zijn toch erg goede nummers.

maar over die originaliteit daar kan ik wel inkomen, het is sowieso altijd maar de vraag of je net zo weggeblazen wordt door het tweede album omdat het nieuwe er dan af is. maar kwalitatief klinkt het niet minder iig

Jacknife Lee chosen to produce the second album!

It's been confirmed that Jacknife Lee will produce Bloc Party's second album, the follow up to 'Silent Alarm'!

Speaking on Marshals, Gordy had this to say about the decision:

"After a pretty successful week recording, considering and mixing a new track with Jacknife Lee, we've taken the decision in the last few days that he's the man for the very important job of producing our next record."

"Some of you may remember back to his days as flame-haired guitarist in Compulsion (I certainly do, in fact I can claim to be something of an authority on that band), others may know him better for his work with Snow Patrol. Either way Bloc Party has certainly clicked with him and most importantly feel he shares our sense of the kind of record we're all capable of making."

"You know the clichés about second albums; for us it has never been a consideration to somehow re-capture the 'magic' of Silent Alarm. We want to make a more accomplished, better and different-sounding record. And we've been looking to work with someone who can dig that record out of us, although as much as anything it's about finding someone who you'd want to spend six weeks in an enclosed space with. We'll all be heading for that enclosed space when we're back from Coachella, so for now we're going to enjoy some fresh air."

Jacknife Lee, aka Garret Lee, was born in Dublin and started making music when he was 14. After four years playing punk rock guitar with Compulsion, Lee began remixing, bootlegging and producing. He has a very impressive CV, having worked with artists such as Run DMC, Eminem, Longview, Badly Drawn Boy, Basement Jaxx, Kasabian, U2, Blur, Missy Elliot, Björk and The Raveonettes. Lee was also the producer of the album that brought Snow Patrol into the limelight, 'Final Straw'.

ik heb iets verkeerd gedaan ik vond het nieuws over de nieuwe plaat wel een apart topic waard. Dus toen heb ik wat reacties gesplit van dit topic maar daarna is alles verloren gegaan Maargoed mijn excuses allemaal en ik gooi deze wel dicht om verwarring te voorkomen. Dis maak vooral een nieuwe over de nieuwe cd.
